In their remarks at the event, Tural Aliyev, Head of the NGO Affairs Sector, and Aygun Aliyeva, Chairperson of the Agency’s Board, congratulated the winners and wished them success. During their speeches, necessary recommendations were presented regarding the implementation of the projects, ensuring proper reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Later, speaking at the event, Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations for organizing the joint grant competition on mine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) issues and for demonstrating a high level of professionalism during the project evaluation and winner selection stages.
Hajiyev noted that the number of project proposals submitted to the competition exceeded expectations, demonstrating that a healthy competitive environment is already forming within the sector. This factor contributes positively to improving the quality of submitted projects and to the overall development of civil society institutions.
The Chairman added that cooperation in this area is planned to continue in the future, and the results of the pilot project may influence the volume of resources allocated in subsequent stages.
Rahman Hajiyev particularly emphasized that the revival of the region and sustainable resettlement are impossible until the territories are completely cleared of mines. For this reason, the successful implementation of the selected projects will make a significant contribution to the Fund’s activities in this direction. The Chairman of the Executive Board wished the winners success in their future work and in the implementation of their projects.
During the meeting, numerous questions from NGO representatives were answered in detail, and views were exchanged on organizational and technical matters.
